Marta Wakula-Mac was born in Nisko, Poland. She has a diploma in linocut techniques and in 2003 she graduated from the Institute of Art at Krakow’s Pedagogical University with a master’s degree in fine art education. She has lived and worked in Dublin since then, becoming a member of Graphic Studio Dublin and developing her linocut and etching techniques.
Her work has featured in national and international solo and group exhibitions, and is regularly published in Irish literary magazine The Stinging Fly. Marta’s interest is in expressing the essentials of a subject through line, colour and composition, rather than literal depiction.
